On October 28th our ghoulish gates creaked open to invite in local residents for our HalloweenPumpkin Trail 2023.

Tickets for the event had quickly sold out online and we welcomed more than 3,000 adults and children to our eerie allotment. Hundreds donned frightening fancy dress for their visit.

This year the route started at the north end, down the devishly decorated Radbourne Avenue, before entering the site at the south east gate.  Guests were guided up the main path, passing petrifying plots and pausing at the cake stand, BBQ and bar. Attractions included a skeleton-making factory, ginger bread house and more than 100 carved pumpkins.

Moving to a new route and reducing numbers helped to ease some of the congestion issues we've experienced in recent years. We welcomed St John Ambulance back for the second year running to assist any guests.

Despite a poor weather forecast, the afternoon was mostly dry with rain towards the end of the evening. Thankfully we had a new large marquee to shelter under.

Our thanks to the army of plotholders and other volunteers who among other things, baked a cake, decorated a plot, planned logistics, scanned a ticket, directed visitors and served mulled wine. These events couldn't run without you.
