Summer Open Day 2021

London’s oldest allotment is inviting visitors to its sixth annual Summer open day on Sunday 4th July, when plotholders at Northfields Allotments on Northfield Avenue, West Ealing, will open the gates between 1pm and 5pm.

Free seed workshop

A fun and informative session on planting seeds for our Gardening Club members and volunteers.

It's being run by plotholder Christina Fox, an experienced grower who workers for the charity Trees for Cities.

The 45-minutes session will cover everything you need to get your seeds growing, including:

• Soil and compost
• Good timing and succession sowing
• Leggy seedlings
• Protection
• Hardy and half hardy plants
• Seed storage

You will need a bring a packet of seeds with you.

Northfields Allotments Halloween Pumpkin Trail

A spooky trail through London’s oldest allotments

Time: 3pm - 7pm. 
Location: Enter top of Radbourne Walk (W13 9LE) and walk down to Occupation Road
Price: £1 + 25p booking fee. Under 3s go free. 

Advance timed tickets only. None will be sold at the gate.

Bonfire Night for Plotholders

We are going to start the maintenance 'morning' a little later - at 2pm. 

Then around 5pm we'll fire up the BBQ and light the bonfire on the maintenance plot. We'll provide sausages and something to drink. But if you prefer you can bring a bottle and something to cook on the BBQ. 

Plotholders can also add dry wood to the bonfire - but please do NOT bring that in advance. Keep it dry on your plot and wheelbarrow it over at 5pm on the 4th November. Do remember to bring a torch as it will be dark by 4.30pm!

On Sunday 6th July we are opening our gates to the public for a day, inviting the local community to enjoy our allotment site. Gates will open at 1pm and the event will run until 5pm.

As usual, there will be tea, homemade cakes, a bar and a BBQ, and you can buy plants and fruit we’ve grown, and jams and preserves made by our plotholders with fruit from their plots.
